The purpose of this blog is not simply to talk about my pets, but rather to act as a source of information about ferrets, especially for those dwelling in northern British Columbia. It is my hope that this blog will provide relevant, useful information to both current and prospective owners, and perhaps even help connect ferret
enthusiasts, people wishing to find new homes for their ferrets and those wishing to add a ferret to their homes. Yes, this little blog does, indeed have BIG
aspirations, but with any luck, at least some of them will come true.
Good Luck!
ReplyDeleteHi I was wondering if you knew of any credible ferret rescue societies in BC. I was wanting to adopt but I haven't been able to find any. Also is there a site that has a list of ferret friendly vets in Northern BC?
ReplyDeleteHello, I had a ferret years ago and last week finally got another one. His name is Flower and he is a dream. Any suggestions for a good place to get a cage?
ReplyDeleteHi, great to hear from both of you.
ReplyDeleteinannaliban: If you are in the Prince George area, Total Pet has some excellent multi-level cages for ferrets. There is also a used one for sale for $40 in the bargain finder. Petland has a few as well, though not quite as nice as some that I have seen at total pet. Let me know your location if you aren't in PG and I will try to help you find one there!
Anonymous: Those are great questions. If you look at the links on the side, there are quite a few operations in the Lower Mainland and Alberta, but nothing in the northern BC area yet-- hence what I'm doing. As for the vets, I am looking into and will be posting what I find out soon.
Just ordered a Ferret Nation double unit from Flower Town Chinchillas tonight. Way bigger than any that I could get here, and cheaper even with shipping. Know any one that needs a ferret cage? I will be selling he current one next week.
ReplyDeleteWow - ferret nation? Those are the cadillac of cages! I also gave up looking for a nice cage in town, though Petcetra has finally got a large multi-level cage in that is about 5 feet high and is expandable, still not nearly as fancy as the ferret nation ones though! I would advertise the cage that you have for sale in the papers... Christmas is coming after all!
ReplyDeleteWe did a fair amount of research and phoned around. Total Pet had a single unit Ferret Nation for just over $300. It was actually cheaper to order the double unit from Ontario and pay shipping. It can be added to as well. We figure since the woozel spends so much time in there it might as well have lots of room for toys.
